Not only is it an actual day, it has an actual website: InternationalWomensDay.com. On this day I hope you will take a bit of time to at least think about (if not do something about) the plight of women all over the world. I think this is an important subject, not only because I am a woman but because I have a daughter and I hope that she is able to grow up in a world where she can flourish, contribute to her fullest, and be happy. All girls should have this opportunity, this right. Here are a couple excerpts from the website about the organization and it’s mission: 

International Women’s Day has been observed since in the early 1900’s, a time of great expansion and turbulence in the industrialized world that saw booming population growth and the rise of radical ideologies.

Annually on 8 March, thousands of events are held throughout the world to inspire women and celebrate achievements. A global web of rich and diverse local activity connects women from all around the world ranging from political rallies, business conferences, government activities and networking events through to local women’s craft markets, theatric performances, fashion parades and more.

Many global corporations have also started to more actively support IWD by running their own internal events and through supporting external ones. For example, on 8 March search engine and media giant Google some years even changes its logo on its global search pages. Year on year IWD is certainly increasing in status. The United States even designates the whole month of March as ‘Women’s History Month’.

So make a difference, think globally and act locally !! Make everyday International Women’s Day. Do your bit to ensure that the future for girls is bright, equal, safe and rewarding.

There’s new website in town, GirlzPorn, and if you’re a girl who likes (or is curious about) porn, then you should check it out! Now, I know what you’re thinking – “Yeah, SURE it’s for women. It’s probably just porn for guys and re-packaged for women. Or it’s porn for gay guys. So, what’s the catch with this one?!” Well, I assure you it’s the real McCoy, ladies! Not only do they offer porn specifically created for women, they provide sex advice, news, a blog, and an active community of like-minded porn-loving women. It launched earlier this year and is already receiving accolades and awards.

There are VERY FEW websites and porn companies out there that specifically create/promote porn FOR WOMEN. Trust me, I know, I’ve been searching the web for them for years! If you like what you see, I hope you’ll support GirlzPorn! Here’s an article about their recent XBIZ Award nomination:

Perhaps it’s because it’s “that time of the month”, and I’m apt to be emotionally moved by things like commercials and sappy songs on the radio. Perhaps I’m feeling a little guilty for not writing as much as I’d like to on this blog. But I think it’s mainly because when you see something you know is good – brilliant even – you want to tell it to the world. I highly recommend get your ass over to Cleavage, and the wonderful prose of Kelly Diels. Now, you may not always agree with what she has to say (I don’t), but I love love love her passion. And I do agree with plenty (tons!) of what she has to say. And all of it makes me want to be a better blogger. A more consistent blogger. To show my passion to all. Now, isn’t that the highest goal for any relationship? To encourage others to be better? So, that’s what she’s done, even though she doesn’t know it! I hope you really do check it out. I’ve put her blog on my blogroll too, so there’s no excuse that you can’t find it. And just in case there was any question – I am not getting any sort of reciprocation on this – I just like her blog.

One of my favorite websites, Hot Movies For Her has recently relaunched, and is more women-friendly than ever before!  In addition to a huge catalogue of VOD (Video On Demand) movies, they have specialized movie reviews, erotic fiction, and a great blog community, advice columns, and industry news.

As the demand for adult movies for women has steadily increased, Hot Movies For Her has done a great job in answering that call, and providing a great resource!  Not only do they have tons of movies to choose from, but they recognize that not all women like the same things.  Their catalogue has a lot of variety, and provides a little something-something for every type of woman out there.  And don’t forget that watching with your guy is allowed too!
