You could give the “usual” for  Valentines Day (if you’re a guy that means chocolate and flowers. If you’re a girl that apparently means you don’t give anything – at least that seemed to be the consensus of several aquaintences of mine last year – which I think is WRONG, but that’s another post….) While doing research on buying sex toys online for this blog, I began to realize that there’s a lot to it, and not a lot of information out there. I mean, there are plenty of websites that review sex toys, but not a one (that I could find) that review the online stores that sell them! Well, this just would not stand, so I went about creating just such a website.

Presenting Sex Toy Hunter. It provides free comprehensive reviews of online sex toy stores. And when I say comprehensive, I’m not joking. I am a very anal-retentive person, which means I notice every little detail and I like to view (and provide) information in an organized, easy to read format. And since I also love sex toys, it is a match made in heaven. So I have 15 reviews so far, and will be adding new ones on a regular basis. In the process I have learned quite a bit about what defines a good online sex toy store, and I want to pass along that knowledge to you all. Eventually I will have an “Online Sex Toy Store 101″ page, but in the meantime, here are my Top 10 Tips:

1. Privacy should be taken seriously (the store should provide discreet billing and shipping)
2. Security should be taken seriously (the store should provide secure web purchases through SSL)
3. Customer Service should be readily available and easy to access
4. Take the time to compare shipping prices – these vary widely from store to store
5. Take the time to compare prices for the same product at a few stores
6. Know what you are looking for, or find a store that can help educate/inform you
7. The more product information available, the better chance it will be what you expect
8. Check out the store’s returns policy BEFORE you purchase anything
9. If you don’t mind one extra e-mail, sign up for the store’s newsletter for regular updates, discounts and special promotions
10. Be adventurous – browse – educate yourself – try something new!

There. Now that you are armed with the basics, you are ready to check out some stores. And if you have a favorite store that is not on my list, just let me know. One can never have too many options for sex toy stores, I always say!

Sex Toy Hunter

This is just a quick post to say that I am currently searching for some good sex toy websites to share and review.  There’s quite a few out there, but I’m trying to find ones that I think are more “female-friendly”.  Eventually I’d like to give an official review of all of them, but in the meantime I think I’ll narrow it down to three.  Once I’ve found some sites that I like, then the fun really begins….he he….I’ll just have to order a few items, and then I’ll review those too!  Anyway, I’ll keep ya posted.
